Summary:

We are looking to add highly skilled and experienced Commercial Independent Adjusters to our CAT Response team. Must have 5+ years of experience handling commercial claims, experience handling multi-building claims, large loss, coinsurance, and be an expert in commercial building materials, and policy language. Experience working in Florida is preferred.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. The position requires travel to disaster zones to assess property damage, in challenging environments.
  2. Investigating and determining loss coverage and adjusting all elements of property loss claims.
  3. Negotiating with contractors, other insurance companies, public adjusters, attorneys, or any other parties involved in the claim process.
  4. Gather and analyze information from a variety of sources, including police reports, medical records, and photographs.
  5. Determine liability and negotiate settlements with claimants.
  6. Close claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Stay up to date on insurance laws and regulations.
  8. Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, and other insurance professionals.
  9. Maintain accurate records of all claim activity.

Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of property field commercial claims experience.
  2. Possess advanced claims designations (AIC, CPAU, AIS, AIS, etc).
  3. Motivated, confident, and experienced in handling field commercial claims.
  4. Must be physically able to perform inspections of properties, which may require climbing ladders, navigating uneven terrain, and entering confined spaces.
  5. Valid driver's license and clean driving record, and willingness to travel to claim inspections.
  6. Strong knowledge of commercial insurance policies, coverage types, and regulations.
  7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Advanced operating knowledge of Xactimate.
  10. Ability to pass a background check.
  11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

  1. Experience in multiple lines of insurance, such as liability and property.
  2. Possession of advanced industry designations.
  3. Experience handling complex losses, up to and in excess of $2 million.
  4. 10+ years of claims handling experience.
